Mindekirken holds its famous annual Lutefisk Dinner on November 23rd, the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

 

Reservations are strongly recommended as seating is limited.  Sales are not refundable.

 


Ticket cost: 
Adults $21.00 and Children $7.00.

 

 Please call the office after Nov. 4 to see if tickets are still available.

 

 

 

 

 

Mail check payable to Mindekirken, tickets will be sent out after October 15, 2019.
Please include your phone number, and the time of the seating you prefer on the memo line.
Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelopes for us to mail the tickets back to you.

This event is a major fundraiser for the church's general operating fund. Thank you for your support! 

 

The lutefisk is served family style, with melted butter or cream sauce, accompanied by potatoes, cohe button to the left! leslaw, lefse and flatbread.For the faint of heart – meatballs and gravy. Cake for dessert.And of course….lots of strong, black coffee. 

Lutefisk….the fish, the story, the legend..... 

It’s been a Norwegian family tradition for generations – Lutefisk! Whether you love it or hate it, nearly everyone has an opinion about it ….. and usually several family stories and a few good jokes up their sleeve!

 

For the uninitiated among you – lutefisk is fish -cod to be exact.What makes it ‘lutefisk’ is the way it was processed in the Nordic countries before refrigeration was available.To preserve the cod, it is salted and dried in the pure, cold Nordic air. When it was ready to use, the lutefisk (literally translated: lye fish) is put through a series of treatments to make the fish edible. It is first soaked in a lye and water solution to revive the fish and then rinsed for days in clear, cold water to remove the effects of the lye.Only then is it ready to cook and make glad the hearts of Scandinavians everywhere!
