Funeral Announcement:

Mon., Sept. 24 at 12:00 p.m.  Memorial Luncheon for Edith Pihl
Edith Pihl has left the dance floor. Born 28 May 1931, she passed away on Sat., 15 September 2018, at the age of 87 years.  Feel free to pass the news along far and wide.  She has touched so many more people's lives than those we are able to contact ourselves. Edith was known among friends and acquaintances for her love of Norwegian folk-dance and providing Scandinavian events with her long desired homemade deserts - krumkake and Vestlands lefse. Of course it is her determined yet playful humor people remember - always eager to go dancing or the occasional opportunity to catch a fish.  The past half year she has been under home hospice care for Colon cancer. After a long life primarily devoted to caring for others Edith's wish to live and die in her own home was fulfilled.

September Mission of the Month
- Lutheran World Relief (LWR).
Since 2013, Lutheran World Relief has worked with smallholder coffee farmers in Indonesia, who struggle to make a decent living in the competitive coffee market.  LWR helps these farmers improve coffee quality, increase productivity, improve access to capital and become stronger business partners, all leading to higher incomes and a better life for their families.  LWR has partnered with coffee farmers across the globe for nearly 30 years and continues this work today under Ground Up: The LWR Coffee and Cocoa Initiative (lwr.org/groundup).  Watch for LWR coffee sampling and giveaways at Mindekirken church coffee to support smallholder coffee farmers!
